Made from durable, eco-friendly clay, these long-life lures are completely resistant to mouse damage. Instead of being chewed away, they stay exactly where you left them, continuing to hold and release lure over time.
Simply soak them overnight for maximum saturation, install them in your trap, and they’ll keep attracting pests for several months, possibly longer, before needing to be refreshed.

1. Prepare the lure mix
– Shake the Lure Bottle thoroughly.
– Place the Clay Lures into a clean soak container.
– Pour liquid lure over the lures until fully covered.
2. Soak for full saturation
– Leave the lures to soak overnight for best absorption.
– Return any unused liquid lure to the Lure Bottle.
3. Install in trap boxes
– Place the soaked Clay Lures into **150, 200, or 250 Series** trap boxes.
– For best performance, mount the lure on:
– a small nail protruding from the inside wall of the trap box, **or**
– the bait holder.
4. Refresh when required
– Remove lures that need refreshing.
– Clean them thoroughly — boiling is recommended if heavily soiled.
– Resoak using the same process as above.
5. Efficient trap‑line workflow
– As you move along the trap line, replace old Terracotta Lures with freshly soaked ones.
– Bring the used lures back to base for cleaning and resoaking.

How long do they last for?
Longevity depends on conditions such as weather and moisture. Field users have reported strong performance even after 5 months in wet, damp environments.
Do rats and mice destroy these lures?
No, The clay material cannot be chewed or destroyed by rats or mice.
What flavour do these lures come in?
They are supplied unflavoured, allowing you to soak them in any lure you prefer. For mustelids and rodents, salmon and meat‑based lures are the most commonly used.
How many times can the lures be reused?
Clay lures can be refreshed many times. With proper cleaning and resoaking, most users get multiple seasons of use.
How should the lures be stored when not in use?
Store clean, dry lures in a sealed container away from moisture. Keep liquid lure sealed and out of direct sunlight.
Do the lures work with all trap types?
They are designed for 150, 200, and 250 Series traps. They can also be used in other lure‑holder setups where a small mounting point is available.
How long should I soak the lures?
Overnight soaking gives the best saturation, but shorter soaking periods will still work if you’re in the field and short on time.
Are the lures safe for the environment?

Do the lures attract non‑target species?
They behave the same as the lure you soak them in. Choosing species‑appropriate lure (e.g., salmon/meat for mustelids and rodents) helps minimise non‑target attraction.
Can I mix lure flavours?
It’s best not to. Clean and dry the lure thoroughly before switching to a different lure type.
Do they work in very cold or very hot conditions?
Yes. Terracotta is stable across temperature extremes. However, lure evaporation may increase in hot conditions, and saturation may last longer in cool, damp environments.
How do I know when a lure needs refreshing?
If the lure feels dry, has lost scent, or has been deployed for several months, it’s time to clean and resoak.
