Prefeeding
A pre-feed with non-toxic Ferafeed paste is strongly recommended to maximise toxic bait uptake as Feracol Is a one feed bait.
After pre-feeding replace non-toxic Ferafeed paste with Feracol paste. A judgement of pest abundance is required to gauge the amount of bait to apply.
When the product is used in a place to which members of the public ordinarily have access, signs must be erected at every normal point of entry to warn the public that this product has been applied in the area. Signs must remain in place for not less than 4 months from the last date on which baits were laid if biodegradable bait bags were used, or 2 to 3 months after baits have been retrieved from the place where it has been laid if bait stations are used.
For Use In Baitstations
Use appropriate bait stations, such as Run Through or Philproof, to minimise access to baits by non-target animals.
To target possums: a lethal dose for a possum is 18g, approximately a dessert spoon sized amount. Add at least this amount to each bait bag or bait station.
To target rodents: a lethal dose for a rat is about 3-5g, but depends on bodyweight. For best results use 40g Feracol paste in bait stations placed at 50m intervals in a grid pattern covering the entire area to be treated.
If a large number of bait stations are placed, record the stations on a GPS or geo map. This will ensure all stations are replenished with bait, and that once baiting is discontinued, that all stations and poison is removed if required.

The pre-manufactured Feracol Biobags contain 20g of Feracol paste sealed in a blue, biodegradable paper bag, labelled with appropriate bait station warnings.
