Prefeeding
If rat numbers are high, they can eat all of the bait before Bennett’s Wallabies get a chance to feed. It is advisable in these instances to prefeed with Ratabate Strikers one week prior to applying Feratox. This approach is advantageous as rats are controlled, and it acts as a prefeed, meaning no other pre-feeding is required. Alternatively, use Ferafeed 215, which is less palatable to rats.

Bait should be placed on and near animal signs and as close to key food or play trees and possible nesting sites.

The use of the Striker Bait Station is the preferred method because the shape of the Striker Bait Station allows the Bennet Wallaby to scrape out the Ferafeed and Feratox with its procumbent lower molars.
A Striker Bait Station is made from biodegradable potato starch and is a small frame measuring approximately L 60mm W 14mm D 17mm. Each striker is labelled with a backing label, displaying appropriate bait station warnings. The strikers are filled with around 18 grams of Ferafeed 213 or 215 Paste and dipped in a light wax for weather protection and to maintain bait freshness. There is the option to add 1 or 2 holes to each striker, to allow 1 or 2 Feratox for Bennett’s pellets to be applied to the striker in the field. These are made to order, so ensure you confirm which option you would prefer when ordering.
What are Feratox for Bennett’s Wallabies Pellets?
Feratox pellets are encapsulated Potassium Cyanide baits designed for targeted, humane, and fast‑acting control of Bennett’s Wallabies. Their unique design minimises risk to birds and non‑target species.
Each pellet contains 230 mg of Potassium Cyanide inside a hard, brittle coating. Only animals with strong jaw pressure—like wallabies—can crack the capsule, making it highly species‑selective. Once eaten, the toxin acts quickly, resulting in rapid and humane knockdown.
